More Kyoto. This is pretty much what we did on day 2 of our trip, we hanged around the Kiyomizu and Gion area, also took the Philosopher's walk to see if it will inspire us to be more "philosophical".
The Philosopher's walk is a small path, stretching for approximately 5km long. East to the walk is filled with Cherry Blossoms (Sakura Tree), unfortunately we took our trip during the summer, and we completely missed the Cherry Blossoms. However, there are a lot of small souvenir stores and bistro along this little path, it is definitely something worth a visit
Again, we made the mistake of not purchasing the JR pass ahead of time, so we ended up taking the Rakku bus system in Kyoto.
If you plan your travel properly, you can cover all main attractions in Kyoto in 2 days (full days). Most of your activities will probably be north of the Kyoto station.
South of the Kyoto Station you will see the Kyoto Tower Hotel (one of the pics), there is a small street behind it, where you can find Japanese Ryokan - Japanese style private operated motel for a low low price.
There is also a very famous market place that you can visit in Kyoto, more to come on that tomorrow, stay tuned......
